“Switzerland is a place where they've perfected the art of living.”

-Jacques Rousseau

Why Swiss?

Harwood International’s ties to Switzerland

run deep from the origins of the family-owned

business. The company’s Founder & Chairman,

Gabriel Barbier-Mueller, was born in Geneva

and serves as the Honorary Consul of

Switzerland for North Texas.

The Harwood District celebrates Swiss National Day every year and the eminence of Swiss-Texas culture every day.

Did you know? There are over a dozen of Swiss cows placed throughout the Harwood District in honor of Harwood’s Swiss roots.

In homage to the multi-generational family's Swiss heritage, the Harwood District crown jewel, Hôtel Swexan, stands for “Swiss hospitality meets Texan charm”. To extend the excitement of the Swiss celebration this year and Hôtel Swexan’s one-year anniversary, the hotel launched The Swexan Experience which features room accommodation, complimentary valet, & a full Swexan culinary journey for two. Click here to learn more about booking your Swexan Experience.

In addition, we hope you make your way through our District to find curated art pop-ups as well as land in one of our 20 restaurants, museum, gardens, and hotel along the way.

In honor of Swiss National Day, the Harwood District is celebrating the entire month of August. Explore Madison Mask's four art installations nestled within the 19-city block Harwood District.
